Rabbi Etan Moshe Berman
In addition to being the Rav of our Shul, Rabbi Etan Moshe Berman is also a Rebbi in Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchok Elchonon, the rabbinical seminary of Yeshiva University. He has been learning, administrating and teaching in various capacities at YU since receiving his semichah there in 2006. His approachable and charismatic personality, coupled with his diverse background, has allowed him to connect with individuals of all walks of life.
An inspirational and entertaining speaker, Rabbi Berman has spoken at NCSY Shabbatons and the Hudson Valley Resort, given a weekly class at Ramat Orah, taught at Summer@YU, and given womens’ classes in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He has run outreach programs in Jacksonville, FL and Nashville, TN. Rabbi Berman has written several scholarly articles for the RIETS Torah Journal Bais Yitzchok, as well as the "YU to Go" publication. He also has a plethora of essays, video, and audio classes accessible online at YUTorah.org.
Rabbi Berman is a student of Rav Aharon Kahn, Rosh Yeshiva in YU and Rav of Beis Avigdor in Flatbush, and learned in Rav Herschel Schachter’s Kollel for over thirteen years. In the evenings for almost seven years, he participated in and regularly gave mussar presentations to the Kollel Bais Hamussar led by Rav Yitzchok Cohen.
He graduated in the year 2000 with a BA in Psychology from Yeshiva College, where he also received the Rose Rachel and Lewis Segal Memorial Award for excellence in Talmud.
